Richard Lee Dyson

Richard Lee “Ricky” Dyson, 69, of Eden, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on January 2, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

There will be no formal service for Mr. Dyson.

Born on April 2, 1957, Ricky was a country man, known for staying true to himself, speaking honestly, and living life his own way. Ricky touched the lives of everyone he met. Those who knew him will remember him for his love of riding horses, the flavor of his famous blooming onions, time spent in the great outdoors camping and fishing, and for laughing and sharing good times with everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his father, R.C. Dyson; his mother, Helen Moore; and five sisters: Brenda, Linda, Geraldine, Carolyn and Diane. Ricky is survived by his sons, Richard Dyson Jr., Richie Dyson, and Jordan Pulliam; his grandchildren, Alana, Lucas, Raina, and Ryatt, whom Ricky lovingly called “Rowdy.”; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Though deeply missed, Ricky’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
