Richard Douglas Smith

Richard Douglas Smith, 64, passed away Wednesday morning, April 15, 2020, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.
A private funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 20, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
A native of Rockingham County, NC, Richard was born July 16, 1955. Richard was a former employee of Fieldcrest Mills. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and brother and will, surely, be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Ramsey Smith of the home; sons, John Smith and Daniel Smith, both of the home; mother, Annie Dyson Smith of Eden; sisters, Gaye Smith of New York, Annie Mabe of Ruffin, and Candace Southern of Eden; and brother, William Smith of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Calvin Smith.
