Richard Lee Campbell, Jr.

Richard “Richie” Lee Campbell, Jr., 56, of Ridgeway, VA, passed away June 17, 2024.

A memorial service will be held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 29, at 11am. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Richie was born December 9, 1967. He graduated from Drewry Mason High School in Ridgeway, VA, and attended Rockingham Community College in Eden, NC. He worked at Campbell Motors in Eden.

His love for music of all kinds was evident. There was nothing he could not tell you about history, no matter what the subject was. He was a super chef, enjoyed life, his family and friends, and laughing at a good joke.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who loved him and cared so much about him. Every Saturday was always Dad, Richie, and Chris time until his health got in the way. Now he is in Heaven and the battle is over.

Surviving are his mother and father, Brenda and Dickie Campbell of Ridgeway, VA; his loving brother, Christopher “Chris” Campbell of Eden, NC; aunts, Sharon Wimbish of Bassett, VA, and Betty Emory of Eden, NC; aunts and uncles, Bonnie and Allen Purgason of Eden, NC, and Lessa and Ronnie Hopper of Mayodan, NC; and numerous cousins.

Richie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarice and Edward Hopper of Eden, NC, and Irene and Ben Campbell of Ridgeway, VA; aunts, Sandra H. Wilson and Connie H. McCraw of Eden, NC, and Patsy C. Hart of Ridgeway, VA; uncle, Edward “Ray” Hopper of Eden, NC.
