Rebecca Ruth Griffin Travis

Rebecca Ruth Griffin Travis, 78, passed away Tuesday morning, February 2, 2021, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 5, at Happy Home Church in Ruffin.  Social distancing protocol will be followed, along with the wearing of face coverings.  She will lie in repose on Thursday at Fair Funeral Home from 12 Noon to 6 pm for those wishing to come by to pay their respects.

Born August 31, 1942 in Greensboro, NC, Rebecca was the daughter of the late Troy Leonard Griffin and Claudine Frances Hodge Griffin.  She was a member of Fieldcrest Road Church of God and a retiree of Guilford Mills. 

She is survived by her three children, Daniel Dean Travis (Lynn) of Madison, Steven Dwight Travis (Debra) of Eden and Angela Ann Graves of Eden; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Todd Lawless of Ridgeway, VA; brother, Roger Dale Griffin of Eden; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Delwood Travis; her daughter, Sheila Mae Lawless; brothers, Leonard Griffin and Dennis Griffin; and her two sisters, Frances Bailey and Nancy Faye Mitchell.
