Ramona Houchins Denny

Ramona Houchins Denny, age 82 of 449 Morgan Road , Eden , went to be home with the Lord early Saturday morning, December 8, 2012 at Morehead Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Ramona was born August 15, 1930 in Rockingham County to the late Clarence and Ethel Houchins. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills and was a member of Wayside Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and mostly spending time on the front porch sitting with her husband of 45 years, Melvin.

Preceding her in death along with her parents was sisters, Margaret Bennton, Cindy Rodgers and brothers, C.J. and Clarence "Bud" Houchins.

Surviving is her husband Melvin lee Denny of the home; sons, Rodger Lee Denny and wife Ann , Larry Dean Denny and wife Bonita; daughter, Paula Denny Sutliff and husband Syd; brothers, Ray Houchins and Wayne Houchins; sisters, Pella Gadd and Diane Nester, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 til 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
