Pauline Mize Hyler, age 97 of 436 Quesinberry Road, Eden, passed away on Saturday morning, December 26, 2015.
A graveside service will be held 4 pm Monday at Dan View Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3 till 3:45 pm at Fair Funeral Home before proceeding to the Dan View Cemetery.
Pauline was born July 15, 1918 in the Mayfield area to the late John Lee Mize and Betty Wilson Mize. She married Robert Cassell Hyler on July 1, 1939 and enjoyed a wonderful marriage for 34 years before his passing in 1973. She was also proceeded in death by her brothers, Johnny, Leonard and Pete Mize , Walter and Jake Carter, sisters, Mary Wilson and Leona Walker.
Pauline retired from Fieldcrest Mills, Blanket Division after 35 years of service, but she never retired from being our Mom, Nannie, Gabby and Polly. One of her favorite things to do was to eat at Railroad Cafe ( "Homer's" to her ). She always loved to see Homer and Wendy, who , along with their staff, made her feel extra special. They even opened up on an "off-day" to celebrate her 95th birthday with her family & friends, Thank You! Also thank you to the staff of Hospice of Rockingham County for the very special care given to her and her family.
She is survived by; daughter, Priscilla H. Tuttle and husband Gray; son, Bob Hyler and wife Mary; sister, Edna Walker; in-laws, Ralphine Hyler, Frank and Kathleen Gillie; grandchildren, Lindsey (Cindy), Mark (Julie), John (Tina) and Matthew Tuttle, Nikki Hyler(Chanda) and Jodi Chester (Jamie); great-grandchildren, David, Zachary T., Rob, Ashlyn, Dylan, Glenn, Kari, Bryce, Bailey, Neva, Jackson, Abbie, Ellie, Zachary and Camden; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dot, Leigh, Homer and Wendy.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home of her daughter, 281 Whetstone Creek Road, Stoneville, NC 27048
