Pauline Hutcherson Crowder

January 29, 1922 — December 5, 2015

Pauline Elizabeth Hutcherson Crowder, age 94 formerly of West Avenue and most recently of 231 Country View Road, Eden, passed away on Friday evening December 4, 2015 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Crowder was born January 29, 1921 in Stoneville, NC to the late George H. Hutcherson and Myrtle Shropshire Hutcherson. She was a member of King Memorial Baptist Church. Pauline loved gardening, reading and cooking. She worked in her early years at Karastan Rug Mill.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were her husband, Thomas W. Crowder; granddaughter, Kristin Amos; son-in-law, Dean Amos and brother, Otis Hutcherson.

Surviving are daughters, Dianne C. Rottman and husband George "Biff" of Eden and Karen Amos also of Eden; grandchildren, Brett Wilson and wife Kristin of Valdese, NC; Torrie Amos and Jeffrey Amos both of Eden; great grandchildren, Elliot, Charlotte and Judson Wilson; sisters, Buena Martin and Polly Setliff and husband Bill; brothers, Clayton Hutcherson and wife Demetris, Harold Hutcherson and wife Anita; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Lori Rothrock Nelson and Delia Southard.

A special thank you to Dr. Sasser and staff, Dr. Anwar and Gene Serpe and to the 3rd floor nursing staff at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 - 2 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Karen at 231 Country View Road, Eden, NC.
