Patrick Gary Spencer

Patrick Gary Spencer, age 62 of Ridgeway, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Sovah Hospital in Martinsville, VA.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, 432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC, with burial to follow at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 4410 Stones Dairy Rd, Bassett, VA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Gary was born on July 31, 1963, in Henry County, VA, to Patrick Henry Spencer and Betty Boaz Spencer. From an early age, he showed a natural curiosity and talent for understanding how things worked, especially engines. What began as an early interest became a lifelong passion. Gary had an exceptional ability to work on engines of all kinds, a skill that followed him into adulthood and became one of the many things people admired and relied on him for.

He was known for his adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors. Gary greatly enjoyed dirt bike riding, four-wheelers, big trucks, hunting, and fishing. He found joy in the freedom of the open trail, the challenge of the outdoors, and the camaraderie that came with sharing these passions with others.

In more recent years, Gary became deeply involved in Civil War reenactment, an activity that reflected both his appreciation for history and his ancestral and historical ties to the Confederate Army. Through reenactment, he honored the past, forged meaningful friendships, and immersed himself in preserving historical traditions that were important to him.

Gary will be remembered for his mechanical skill, adventurous nature, love of history, and the enthusiasm he brought to the things he cared about most. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
