Patricia Bray Johnston

Patricia "Pat" Bray Johnston, 84, of 102 Taft Street in Eden, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018, at UNC-Rockingham Rehab and Nursing Care Center in Eden.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 5, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Johnston was born December 2, 1933 in Schoolfield, VA, to the late John Cleveland Bray and Queen McKinney Bray.  She was a member of Church of the Epiphany and a retiree of Morehead Memorial Hospital where she had worked for 38 years.  She was a very accomplished artist  and long-time member of the Rockingham County Studio Group.  Pat was also an animal lover and enjoyed interior design.  She enjoyed fashion and had been a model in the past.

She is survived by son, Henry O'Neil "Johnny" Johnston, Jr. and Maynie;  grandson, Henry O'Neil "Neil" Johnston, III and wife, Meredith;  great-grandson, Landry O'Neil Johnston;  numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends of the "Divine Ya-Ya Sisterhood", Sharon Tongbua, Wendy Williams, and Bobbie Blakely.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry O'Neil Johnston; her daughter, Judith Deane Johnston; sister, Hazel Gregory;  and brothers, John Cleveland "J.C." Bray, Jr. and William "Bill" Bray.
