Pastor Wayne Johnson

Reverend Wayne A. Johnson, beloved husband, father and pastor, age 62, passed from this life to his eternal home on Monday, June 22, 2015.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, June 26, at The Duane Best Auditorium at Morehead High School in Eden. Burial will follow at Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting Cemetery, Hoover Hill Road in Trinity, NC.

Pastor Johnson was born October 15, 1952 to the late Wade and Ida Johnson. He served as pastor of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Eden, NC for the past 35 years and was an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of Trinity High School in Trinity, NC, and John Wesley College (now Laurel University) in High Point.

He is survived by his wife of almost 45 years, Sylvia Hill Johnson, and four children, Jeremy Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Chelsey Johnson and Michael Johnson. Other family members include sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Arnold Farlow and Sharon and Paul George; niece, Trisha Millikan and husband, Ben; nephew Buck George and wife, Angie; and future daughter-in-law, Lyndsey Sennett.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Trinity Wesleyan Church and other times at the residence.
