Pamela Gayle Sutliff Peloquin, 76, of Troy Virginia, passed away on December 18, 2024, peacefully at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born December 3, 1948, in Eden, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Joseph “Garvin” and Mary Carter “Lib” Sutliff. Pam was also a graduate of Morehead High School Class of 1967 in Eden.
Pam, or Miss P as she was called, was much loved by all of her students during the approximately 15 years she substituted for Fluvanna and Albemarle County schools. She had a great love for her sweet dog Pepe who was her constant companion for 17 years before his death in 2021. Anybody who knew Pam knows penguins were her thing. She had penguin Christmas ornaments, paper towel holders, shower curtains and everything else imaginable. She was an avid movie watcher, picture taker, and crafts maker, including some award-winning Halloween costumes she made for her children. Pam always had a smile and a way to spread fun to everyone near her.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronald G Peloquin, sons Curt Peloquin, and wife Amy, Brent Peloquin, and partner Pam Bailey, and daughter, Liza Jussiaume, and partner Chad Smith. She had four grandchildren, Luke and Marquesa Peloquin, and Eloise and Jean Jacques Jussiaume. She is also survived by siblings Joe Sutliff, and wife Jackie, and Reba Robertson, and husband Tyke, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Eden N.C. She loved her family wholeheartedly and made sure we all knew it!
Pam also was preceded in death by her grandparents Isaac and Lottie Doyle Sutliff and Martin and Annie Sam’s Carter all of Eden, NC.
Sheridan Funeral Home, in Fluvanna County, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of Pam’s life may be held at a later date in Troy and in Eden, NC with a private family memorial to honor Pam’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions, in Pam’s name, be made to the Central & Western Virginia chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, 1010 Ednam Center, Suite 203, Charlottesville, Va. 22903
