Otis James Stultz

Otis James Stultz, 88, passed away Thursday night, May 20, 2021, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, May 24th, at Danview Cemetery.  He will lie in repose on Sunday from 12 Noon – 6 PM at Fair Funeral Home and the family will receive friends at the residence, 2025 Mill Avenue in Eden.

Born December 11, 1932 in Draper, NC, Otis was the son of the late Maurice and Pauline Troxler Stultz.  He was a graduate of Draper High School, Class of 1950 and went on to receive his Bachelors of Arts degree from Elon University in 1956; his Masters of Education from UNC-Greensboro in 1968 and, later, his Doctorate of Education from University of Virginia.  Otis was the Principal of Tunstall High School in Dry Fork, VA for 18 years, prior to his retirement.  Being an active member of his community, he was a part the Eden Evening Lions Club for 52 years, serving in many leadership roles including President.  He also served as Chairman of Danview Cemetery Maintenance Association for 17 years.  Otis was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, especially producing German Johnson tomatoes and he loved children.  He will be remembered as a kind and patient man and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Addie Thomas Stultz; sons, Mike Stultz (Karol) and Mark Stultz (Beth); four grandchildren, Nora Stultz, Katie Tillotson (Bryson), Neal Stultz (Olga) and Patrick Stultz (Jessica); six great-grandchildren; and sister, Bobbie Nauman (George).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Christy.
