Orear Meeks

Orear Meeks, age 87 formerly of Westerly Park Road in Eden, passed away on Monday morning May 25, 2015 at Chiltons Family Care on 135 Turner Farm Lane, Reidsville.

A graveside service will be held 12 noon Thursday at Overlook Cemetery in Eden with Military Rites provided by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.

Mr. Meeks was born March 20, 1928 in Rockingham County to the late John H. Meeks, Jr. and Sarah L. Gilley Meeks. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. Orear was a former Bus driver for Tri-City Transportation Company in the Leaksville section of Eden. He retired from Fieldcrest Mills as a Truck Driver.

He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Louise Kendrick Meeks and three sisters, Christine Oakley, Alberta Sams and Evelyn Davis

A sister, Sunshine M. Hand survives him and neices, Laura Dale Kendrick and Joan Martin as well as a nephew Joe Tilley.

The family will receive friends at Fair Funeral Home from 11 till 11:45 am prior to proceeding to the cemetery for the graveside service.
