Ollie Burgess Grogan

June 5, 1928 — June 8, 2018

Ollie Burgess Grogan, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday evening at Moses Cone Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Peter Smith officiating.  Interment will follow the services in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1-2pm) at Fair Funeral Home Chapel and other times at Mrs. Grogan’s residence.

Mrs. Grogan was born on June 5, 1928 to the late James Adolphus Burgess and Lillie Gaye Boone Burgess in Ridgeway, Virginia.  She graduated from Ridgeway High School.  Ollie and her late husband, were owners of Grogan’s Florist from 1970 – 2006.  She was an avid gardener and flower lover.  Ollie enjoyed sewing and painting with watercolors and oils.  Mrs. Grogan was a past president of the Out Our Way Garden club.  She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Eden.  Mrs. Grogan lived life to the fullest but most of all she loved her family.

Surviving are her two daughters, Suzon Grogan Martin and husband, Ron of Eden and Sherry B. Grogan of Greensboro; special friend, Scott Lemons; ten step-grandchildren; sister, Elsie Denny of, Drexel Hill, P.A. and a large extended family.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Grogan; two sisters and two brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions go to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund; 582 Southwood Drive, Eden, NC 27288.
