Oliver Kyle Robertson

Oliver Kyle Robertson, 85, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, February 7, at Danview Cemetery.  He will lie in repose at Fair Funeral Home from 3 pm to 6 pm on Saturday afternoon.

Born February 18, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, VA, Oliver was the son of the late Kyle and Ruth Thorton Robertson.  He was a member of Willis Memorial Baptist Church and was an awesome singer.  Oliver was loved by all and was considered a pillar of his community.  He was the first Honorary Mayor of Cascade, VA.  He was a retiree of E & M Express in Danville.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Samuels Robertson of the home; his five children, Kathy McBride of Danville, Mike Robertson and wife, Bobbie of Shenandoah, VA, Jerry Robertson and wife, Sue of Eden, Janet Eshbough and husband, James of Titusville, FL, and Dawn Hutchison of Rock Hill, SC; 16 grandchildren, Missy, Amy, Tracy, Mike, Heather, Rebecca, Sandy, Laurie, Jerry Jr, Travis, Amanda, Linda, Kyle, Jennifer, Tiffany and Mason; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marion Crab of Fayetteville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Rene Hunt, Ted Hunt, Reba Hunt, Myrna Gibson and Pat Robertson.
