Nellie Lyons Roberts Newman

Nellie Lyons Roberts Newman, 98, formerly of Ridge Avenue in Eden, passed away Wednesday morning, October 24, 2012 at Morehead Nursing Center.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 26, at Overlook Cemetery.

Mrs. Newman was born June 5, 1914 in Surry County, NC, daughter of the late John A. and Emma Lewis Lyons.

She is survived by her nephews, Alton Ray Williams, Jr. and wife, Helen of Stoneville and David Ross of Beulahville, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Miller Newman; and three sisters, Callie Lyons Willims, Nina Lyons Gilley and Maxie Hamby Ross.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 5 - 7 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.
