Nellie Lovell Higgins

Nellie Lovell Higgins, 85 of Quesinberry Road, Eden, and more recently of Carolina House of Reidsville, passed away on Monday morning May 9, 2011. A graveside service will be held 11 am Wednesday May 10, 2011 at Danview Cemetery with visitation to follow the service. Mrs. Higgins was born March 7, 1926 in Providence,NC to the late George and Etta Ware Lovell. She started work at Dan River Mills but spent most of her working years at Fieldcrest Mills where she made many friends. She was a member of Merriman Street Wesleyan Church. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Thomas Higgins. Surviving are her daughters Carolyn Thurman of Eden, Linda Sawyers of Reidsville, Wanda Overby and husband Pete of Eden, a son; Tommy Higgins of Eden, sisters; Marie Day of Blanch, Shirley Willis and husband Bob of Providence, Ernest Lovell and wife Jane of Danville and Jean Watlington of Yanceyville, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, close friends; Velva and Frances, very special friend; Ruth.
