Naomi Vestal Stevens

Naomi Vestal Stevens, 89, of 328 Walter Chambers Street in Eden, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 15, 2018, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 18, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery.  Rick Moore, the minister for Sunnycrest Church, will be presiding.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at 207 West Aiken Road in Eden.

Mrs. Stevens was born September 21, 1928 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Bud and Martha Aheron Vestal.  She was raised in St. Luke's Episcopal Church and later joined Pilgrim Holiness Church where she taught Sunday School.  Naomi enjoyed shopping, especially for vegetables at the produce market. She loved her flowers and loved her family.

She is survived by her son, Calvin C. Stevens, Jr. of the home;  her daughter, Yvonne Freeman of Eden;  grandson, Rodger Mitchell and friend, Tracey Carter, along with her son, Nathaniel Carter, of Eden;  granddaughter, Martha Mitchell of Eden;  great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Harris;  and two nieces, Patricia Crumpton and Linda Chance and husband, James, both of Reidsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Coolidge Stevens, Sr
