Naomi Morris Johnson

Naomi Morris Johnson, 96 of Eden, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Ancora Compassionate Care’s Gibson House.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Dan View Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Naomi was born September 21, 1929, in Draper, North Carolina, to the late James Warren Morris and Maude Colvard Morris. She was a graduate of Averett College. Naomi was a member of Draper Christian Church. She was a pianist, organist, and enjoyed singing in the choir at Central Christian Church and First United Methodist Church of Draper. She worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. in the credit department for more than forty years. Naomi had a volunteer’s heart, donating her time at Morehead Memorial Hospital and with the Rockingham County Board of Elections. She loved to read her Bible.

Surviving are her daughter, Beverly Rudd and husband, Bill, of Rock Hill, South Carolina; sister, Iotha Morris of Eden, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Naomi is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Johnson; sisters, Mozell Morris and Louise Rigney; brothers, Clarence Morris, James Franklin “Bud” Morris, and Essrin Warren Morris.
