Nancy Boaz O'Dell

Nancy Carolyn Boaz O’Dell, 87, passed away on July 12, 2026. She was born October 7, 1938 in Reidsville, North Carolina to the late Richard Boaz and Gravely Eggleston Boaz.

A memorial service will be held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, 432 Boone Road, Eden, NC 27288 on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation is one hour prior to the service, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, Virginia.

Nancy had lived most of her life in Virginia, and retired from Sara Lee Corporation, formerly Pannill Knitting Co., with over 40 years of service. She was a member of Morgan Ford Christian Church where she had many caring friends whom she cherished. Nancy was a loving, sweet mother and grandmother who enjoyed more than anything spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed caring for others throughout her life and had a gentle, loving spirit.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra O’Dell Nowlin (Rahn), Jenny O’Dell Williams; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Randolph “Randy” Boaz (Betty).

She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her son, Michael Ray O’Dell; son-in-law, Brad Williams; sisters, Doris O’Dell, Mary Lee Wilson, Helen Denny, Beulah Patterson; brothers, John Boaz and James Mason Boaz; and the father of her children, Hassell L. O’Dell.

The family would like to express a special thank you to her caregiver, Shirley Skiles. We would also like to thank her church family at Morgan Ford Christian Church for all the friendships and support throughout the last years of her life.
