Mozelle Scott Mabes

Mozelle Scott Mabes, 82, of 421 Monroe St. passed away Friday August 6th at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden. The funeral service will be Tuesday August 10th, 2pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mozelle Mabes was born in Rockingham County, NC December 8, 1927 to the late Lewis and Nannie Slaughter Scott. She attended Eden Baptist Church and retired from Stoneville Furniture where she worked in the table department. Mrs. Mabes is survived by her two sons; Ronnie Scott and Jerry Mabes, a step- son Junior Mabes, two daughters Dorothy Clark and husband John and Phyllis Barrett and husband Junior, two sisters Rachel Haymore and husband Durwood, and Marie Harris and husband Booker, all of which are from Eden. She is also survived by twenty one grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and numerous neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Mabes, a sister Leola Allen, three brothers Bud, Ellis and Wallace Scott, and a step- daughter Edna Howell. Visitation will be held Monday August 9th from 7 until 9pm at Fair Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of her daughter Phyllis Barrett, 313 Greenwood St. Eden.
