Morris Stephen Wood

Morris Stephen Wood, 79, of Eden, passed away peacefully, at his home on Saturday, April 4th, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 10th at 2:00PM. A visitation will be held one hour prior from 1:00-2:00PM. 

Morris was born in Richmond  Virginia, to the late Jimmy Wood and Esther Gordon. He was an avid sports fan and always had a special love for the Washington Redskins. He was a proud veteran and enjoyed a good political debate among friends. Morris was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a reliable friend and confidant to so many. His greatest love was his family, with whom he spent his life taking care of. 

Morris is survived by his wife Ellen; his sons Stephen Ray Wood Sr. (Heather), and Shannon Lee Wood; grandsons Stephen Ray Wood Jr., and Dustin Dakota Wood; bonus grandchildren Danielle Duncan, Nathan Small, and Jacob Small; his brother Samuel Abraham Wood (Tracey); and nine great-grandchildren.

Morris is preceded in death by his parents, and his three brothers, Herbie, Ronny, and Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Ancora Compassionate Care.
