Montgomery Bowlin

Montgomery Bowlin, 72, passed away early Friday morning, September 1, 2017, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

A graveside service will be held at 12 o'clock Noon on Monday, September 4, at Greenview Cemetery in Reidsville.  The family will receive friends Monday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Fair Funeral Home, before proceeding to the cemetery and other times at the residence, 127 Carter Drive in Eden.

Mr. Bowlin was born September 14, 1944 in Cabarrus County, NC, to the late Jonas E. Bowlin and Bessie Wingler Bowlin.  He was a retiree of American Tobacco Company.  Montgomery loved watching UNC Tarheels football as well as the Carolina Panthers.  He enjoyed NASCAR, loved flying remote control airplanes and helicoptors, along with a love of traveling to the mountains and the beach.  His most exciting trip was one to Northern Ireland, for his job.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Helen "Freida" Golden Bowlin of the home;  four children, Timothy Lee Bowlin (Kim) of Roanoke, VA, Eric Ray Bowlin of McKinney, TX, Anna Brown and Amy Brown, both of Reidsville;  one granddaughter, Lily Moore;  two brothers, Max Bowlin (Linda) and Otis Bowlin (Judy), both of Kannapolis;  many nephews and nieces, along with one special nephew, Randy Bowlin, of China Grove, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fair Funeral Home to assist with the costs of the funeral expenses.  Mr. Bowlin was an organ donor and encouraged everyone to consider organ donation, as well.
