Mona F. Raper

July 3, 1932 — October 6, 2012

Mona Fulcher Raper, 80, was a most loving and devoted mother. Her earthly life ended Saturday October 6, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. There will be a graveside service held Friday October 12th, 2012 4pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Eden, NC wth visitation to follow at the graveside. Fair Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will also be holding a memorial service Saturday October 13th, 5pm at Lee's Chapel United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC with reception to follow the service

Mona was born July 3, 1932 in Eden, NC to two amazing parents, Homer W. Fulcher and Inez S. Fulcher. Mona was a graduate of Leaksville High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and a DAR Good Citizen. She was a former member of Spray United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was a youth counselor. After 30 years of service she retired from Weaver Realty Company in Greensboro, NC. For the last 40 years she has been a member of her much loved Lee's Chapel United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC where in earlier years she sang in the choir. Mona was a member of the Lindley Sunday School Class.

Whether it be Carolina Tarheels, the Redskins, or the New York Yankees, she was an ardent sports fan and watched games with enthusiasm. Mona valued long lasting friendships. Her love, sacrifice and commitment to her family is a testament to her life and an example to all who knew her.

Her loving memory will be treasured by her survivors: three daughters; Karen Gillespie Stanley and husband Taylor of Richmond, VA, Phyllis Gillespie of Kernersville, NC, Pamela Gillespie Ellis of Greensboro, NC, six grandchildren; Jacob Taylor Stanley, Anne Stanley McIntyre and husband Ken, William Graham Stanley, Adam Michael James and wife Abigail, and Eric Lee James, three great grandchildren; Patrick McIntyre, Addison James and Asher James, brother, Max S. Fulcher of Milton, FL. Preceeding her in death were her parents and older brother H. Donald Fulcher.
