Minnie Hooker Hodges, 88, of 7071 Hwy 700 in Ruffin, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 15, 2013, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 17, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Happy Home Christian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodges was born March 2, 1925 in Draper, NC and was the daughter of the late Ira Melvin Hooker and Emmaline Hicks Hooker. She was a graduate of Draper High School.
She is survived by her three sons, Donald Hodges of Reidsville, Rodney Hodges of Pelham, and Timothy Hodges and wife, Debrah of Ruffin; daughters, Teresa Haynes and husband, Edward of Oak Ridge and Carla Rierson of Eden; eight grandchildren, Sheila, Jimmy, Michelle, Crystal, Kelly, Kyle, Edie and Amy; and 14 great-grandchildren, Colleen, Callie, John, Janna, Matthew, Garrett, Grace, Sydney, Alana, Bayleigh, Maycie, Hayden, Everett, and Edison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Staton Hodges and daughter, Catherine Whitley.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 pm, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
