Milton Mclvor Patterson

Milton Mclvor Patterson, 82, of 1002 Lawson Street in Eden, passed away Sunday morning, May 1, 2016, at Alamance Health Care Center in Burlington.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 5, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

 

Mr. Patterson was born January 27, 1934 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Meredith McIvor and Frances Hicks Patterson.  He was a graduate of Wentworth High School, Class of 1952.  As a pioneer in the computer world, Milton was the first computer programmer in Rockingham County.  He was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.  After his retirement he worked as a consultant for Lockheed-Martin and later for, Keane Consulting Company. 

 

Surviving are his two daughters, Suzy Patterson Williamson and husband, Alan of Danville, VA and Spring Patterson O'Keefe and husband, Ian of Reidsville;  son, M. Paul Patterson and wife, Cristie of Gibsonville;  four grandchildren, Joey McIvor Patterson, Jacob Aaron Scott, Sam Scott, and Kara Patterson;  and brother, Ken Patterson of Eden.

 

He was preceded in death by his life-long partner and wife, Carolyn Allmon Patterson.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.
