Mildred "Mickey" Brown Estes

Mildred "Mickey" Brown Estes, also lovingly known as "Granny", 83, of 1407 Maryland Avenue, passed away early Thursday morning, December 1, 2011 at Brian Center in Eden. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, December 3, at Danview Cemetery. Mrs. Estes was born September 29, 1928, in Draper, NC, daughter of the late John Brown and Bertha Craven Brown. She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills, Blanket Division. Surviving are her four daughters, Carolyn Martin and husband, Bobby of Eden, Kathy Pugh and husband, Mike of Greensboro, Teresa Estes of the home and Donna Prater and husband, Herman of Eden; five grandchildren, Michele Trent, Kristie Dancy and husband, Jason, Amanda Prater, Michael Pugh, Jr. and Ashley Pugh; five great-grandchildren, Tyler and Conner Trent, Alyssa and Chandler Dancy and Caleb Pugh; great-grandchild-to-be, Lily Dancy; and special friend, Joan Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Estes. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all staff at the Brian Center and the 3rd floor staff of Morehead Memorial Hospital for all their care and support.
