Mildred Janene Fulp Whitten

Mildred Janene Fulp Whitten, 94, passed away June 17th at the Gibson House in Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 19th, 2:00pm in the Fair Funeral Chapel with a burial to follow the service at Fulp Family Cemetery, 280 Fulp Saw Mill Road. A visitation will be held Sunday, June 18th from 5:00-7:00pm at Fair Funeral Home.

Mildred was born August 26, 1928 to the late Robert Henry Fulp and Mattie Lee Evans Fulp.  She worked at Dupont for 27 years. Later, Mildred owned and operated Mildred’s Kitchen located on the Boulevard in Eden, NC.

Left to cherish her memories are her sisters; Margaret Beck of Reidsville. Linda Shelton and Velma Thornton (Richard) both of Stoneville, NC; two brother- in- law’s, Roger Sands of Ridgeway, VA and Billy Sands of Madison; sister-in-law, Jeanine Fulp of Eden; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Alvis C. Whitten; brother’s Robert Daily Fulp and J.B. Fulp; sister’s Nancy Isley, Dorothy Martin and Alice Brammer.
