Michelle Overby Nowlin

Michelle Overby Nowlin, 50, of 84 Harbour Street in Ridgeway, VA, passed away Tuesday morning, April 2, 2019, at her home. 

A memorial service will be held at 5 PM on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Gover officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (4-5pm) in the Chapel and other times at the residence.

Michelle was born June 19, 1968 in Eden, NC to Delano Stewart Overby and Pete Overby.  Michelle was a graduate from John Motley Morehead High School, class of 1986 and a graduate of Allen’s Beauty School of Martinsville.  She was a hairdresser and was the owner and operator of Hair Connection in Ridgeway, VA.  Michelle loved traveling to the beach and played drums in her and husband’s band.  She lived life to the fullest but most of all she loved her family and her customers at Hair Connection.  Michelle will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Chad Nowlin of the home; daughter, Stephanie Washburn of Wilmington, NC, her mother, Delano Stewart Overby, resident of Brookdale in Eden; her father, Pete Overby and wife Wanda of Eden; brothers, Stan Overby of Kernersville, NC and Jeff Overby of Eden, two step-brothers, Clint Simpson, and wife, Angela and Adam Simpson of Danville, VA; father and mother-in-law – Rahn and Sandy Nowlin of Eden; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Michelle is preceded in death by her brother, Curt Overby.
