Michael Don Ward

Michael Don Ward, 71 of Reidsville, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Annie Penn Hospital.

A funeral service will be held Monday, October 12, 2026 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Dan View Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Fair Funeral Home from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.

Michael was born October 1, 1955 in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late Alfred Ward and Doris Murphy Ward. He was a member of Reidsville Christian Church. Michael worked at Frontier Spinning in Madison until his retirement in 2018.

Surviving are his loving wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Hester-Ward; daughters, Laurie Blackman (Brian), Wendy Robertson; stepdaughters, Vicki Weddle (Bobby), Victoria Hale (Tarus); granddaughters, Kaley Catoe (Brandon), Karsyn Blackmon; grandsons, Austin Dishmon (Ashlyn), Richard Weddle, Jr. (Jennifer); step-grandsons, Alex Hale (Katlin), Gregory Hale; great-grandchildren, Addy Dishmon, Winter Weddle, Iris Weddle, Reed Weddle, Asher Catoe, Cohen Catoe; step-great-grandchild, Ellie Hale; brother, Freddy Ward (Tammy); sister, Jennifer Solomon (Elvin); nephews, Phillip Ward, Kenny Cole (Miranda), Nathan Cole (Candace); niece, Brittany Ward; brother and sister-in-law, John Cannon, Jr. (JoAnn), Mary Anne O’Bryant (Wiley).

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Melinda Weddle, and stepson, Richard Weddle.
