Michael Ryland Washburn

Michael Ryland Washburn, age 64 of 2268 Price Road passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at his home unexpectedly.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 21, 2019 at El Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Avery Marshall officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.

Mr. Washburn was born in Rockingham County on November 13, 1954 to Rebecca Pearman Gunn and the late Julius Washburn.  Michael was of the Christian Faith.  He retired from Unifi with 30 years of loyal service.  Michael enjoyed being outside working his yard and planting in his garden.  In the earlier part of his life, he enjoyed to travel.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Sara Washburn of the home; his mother, Rebecca Gunn of Eden; his brother, Carlton Grubbs of Atlanta GA; his sister, Kathy Wilson and husband, Jim of Reidsville; niece, Katie Corum and husband, Sammy; aunts, Shirley Washburn and Emogene Pearman and husband, Johnny all of Greensboro and his step-son, Elliott Trent, Jr. of Eden.
