Michael Ted Plummer, born on March 16, 1969, in Siler City, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on April 26, 2026, in Eden, North Carolina. His departure leaves a profound void in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him, yet his spirit endures through cherished memories and the remarkable legacy he left behind.
Michael was a man of remarkable gifts and passions. A graduate of Rockingham County Sr. High School in 1987, he further pursued his education at an engineering school in Georgia, where he nurtured his extraordinary talent for technology. Always gifted with a dry wit and a keen sense of humor, Michael was known for his unique way of living life on "Plummer Time," a phrase that captured his playful and easygoing nature.
His love for putting together model planes was more than just a hobby; it was a reflection of his meticulous nature and fascination with flight. This passion culminated in one of his proudest accomplishments: obtaining a private pilot license. The joy he found in flying mirrored his boundless curiosity and adventurous spirit. Michael also found delight in simpler pleasures, such as playing golf, where he forged joyful moments with friends on the green.
Michael’s warmth and wit remained constants in the hearts of his family and friends. He was the beloved son of Cynthia Stafford Shepherd and the late Ted Junior Plummer. He cherished the bond he shared with his wife Lori Bonnes Plummer, his sister Angela Plummer, brother B.J. Plummer, and was a loving uncle to niece Krystal Jordan (Nick), niece Brooke Cobb (Jeremy), and nephew Tyler Birchett. His extended family included Uncle Jerry Stafford, Aunt Liz Stafford, several great-nieces, one great-great-niece, and numerous cousins who all carry forward his memory with love.
The family also remembers with deep affection Michael’s grandparents Bedford and Lucille Plummer, along with John and Esther Stafford, whose legacies remain woven into the fabric of his life.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Michael Ted Plummer will be held by the family, on May 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at the Floyd Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3652 Price Rd., Eden, NC 27288. It is a moment for all who loved him to come together, sharing stories and honoring the beautiful journey of a man who so touched their hearts. A private family burial will follow the service at Overlook Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the home of Michael's sister, 518 Peach Orchard Rd. in Mayodan N.C.
Michael’s life was a testament to passion, humor, and the profound impact one individual can have on those around him. Though he has flown beyond our sight, the memories he crafted remain like carefully built model planes—delicately constructed, cherished forever, and soaring in the skies of our hearts.
