Mary Rodgers Stophel, 83, of Cascade, VA, passed away early Friday morning, March 6, 2020, at her home.
A private graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 11.
Mary was born December 23, 1936 in Eden, NC, to the late Joseph Rodgers and Elizabeth Hairfield Rodgers.
She is survived by her three daughters, Ramona Buckner of Danville, VA, Janet Soyars of Cascade, VA, and Kim Bennett of Eden, NC; two sons, Chuck Stophel of Ruffin, NC and Dwight Stophel of Cascade, VA; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, Maynard Rodgers of Eden, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stophel, and her brother, Bobby Rodgers.
The family would like to offer special thanks to her granddaughter, Cassandra, who was also her constant caregiver.
