Martha Overby Vernon

Martha Overby Vernon, 91, passed away on Friday, August 2nd at Eden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

A private graveside service will be held Monday, August 5th at 2:00pm in Overlook Cemetery.

Martha was born January 11, 1933 in Rockingham County to the late John Allen Overby and Lena Mae Mills Overby. She worked at Sara’s Flowers as a floral designer. Martha was a homemaker and loved her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter’s, Susan Howell (Kenny), Lisa Overby (Bobby); sons; Steve Overby (Patty), Tony Overby, Jerry Hale; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Vernon and her son Frank M. Overby.
