Eden

Marlene Ann (White) Guldenschuh 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 21, 2026 at her daughter’s home. Ann was born July 29, 1933 in Johnson City, NY. She grew up in Binghamton, NY with her mother Arlene, stepdad Kenneth and brother Donald (Bill). Ann was an active member of the Salvation Army Church growing up. She married her loving husband Rev. Robert Guldenschuh on August 2,1952. They shared 73 years of marriage. While Bob was in the service and stationed in Germany, Ann was there with him and their sons Robert Jr. and Kenneth until Bob returned from the Korean War. They moved to Ft. Dicks, NJ in 1957. They relocated to Vestal. NY where Ann was actively involved at Tracy Creek Memorial Church. In 1974 the family moved to Albany, NY. Ann worked as a cook for Pineview Community Church, pre-school. In 1977 the family moved to North Plainfield, NJ where she was actively involved in their Christian Missionary Alliance Church.

Ann was an amazing mother to her six children, loving them unconditionally and always pointing them to Jesus. Unbeknownst to many she became legally blind at the age of 21. Most people did not know this because she never let it hinder her service to the Lord, her family and others. One of her gifts to many over the years was baking cookies to share. She became known by many as the “Cookie Lady”. She baked thousands of cookies over the years and people would always look forward to her cookie gifts that she always gave so graciously. She loved working and caring for children; she was not only raising her own children but babysat for numerous other children through the years. She also worked cleaning homes.

Ann and Bob retired in 1996 and moved to Eden, NC. No matter where Ann moved, she volunteered at her church. She worked as an AWANA leader in the Cubbies group at First Baptist Church of Draper. In addition, she was a volunteer for the widow’s group at First Baptist Church of Draper ministering to the widows. Ann and Bob became members of Spray Baptist Church, Eden, NC. She loved volunteering for the Widows for Christ. Ann’s love for others and her strong faith are an inspiration to so many. She would help you any way she could and never thought of herself. She was also a prayer warrior, and her strong faith was evident through her entire life. Ann loved so deeply she never let her disability stop her. She was loved by anyone that met her and her children adored her. She is a true gift from God to them. Ann’s lifetime verse was, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil 4:13. Ann would want everyone reading this to come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and spend eternity in heaven with Jesus. She would also tell everyone to have complete faith in the Lord, trust him no matter what your circumstances are and when you pray about something leave it with God and let God handle it all. (She was amazing to watch because she lived this everyday of her life).
