Marjorie C. Lane

Marjorie C. Lane, 87, a resident of The Oaks at Mayview, Raleigh, N.C., died on September 17, 2013 due to complications of lung cancer.

The funeral service will be Friday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home, followed by the burial at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, Reidsville, N.C.

She was born on March 21, 1926 in Stokes County, N.C. to the late William J. Carter, Sr. and Vera Berry Carter. She was a former resident of Rock Hill, S.C. and Reidsville, N.C. and formerly employed with Fieldcrest Mills and the Rockingham County Department of Social Services.

She is survived by her son, Ben Rush, III and wife Carole of Raleigh, N.C.; daughter Jan Rush of Cary, N.C.; brother William J. Carter, Jr. and wife Betty Jean of Reidsville, N.C., Grand-children Ben Rush IV of Kansas City, MO, Kendall Rush of Morrisville, N.C., and Samuel Cartledge of Cary, N.C., as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marjorie was preceded in death by three husbands, Ben Rush, Jr. (1969), Julius C. Tilley (1984), and Frank Lane (2001), and a grand-daughter, Bethany Rush Cartledge (1994).

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 19 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home, Eden, N.C.
