Marion Smith Brumbeloe Spangler

Marion Smith Brumbeloe Spangler, 88, of 112 Adams Street, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 24, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 7 pm on Monday evening, June 28 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Spangler will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. at a later date. A native of Rockingham County, Mrs. Spangler was born March 13, 1922, daughter of the late Robert Tyler and Lucy Redmon Smith. She attended Kings Highway Christian Church and also First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro. Mrs Spangler was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. Surviving are her two sons, Joseph Alan Brumbeloe and wife, Maude of Stoneville and David Leon Brumbeloe and wife, Elizabeth of Greensboro; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Julius S. "Buster" Brumbeloe, Jr.; second husband, William Sanford Spangler; and brother, Robert Durwood Smith. The family will receive friends Monday evening, 5:30 - 7 PM at Fair Funeral Home immediately preceding the service; and other times at the residence on Adams Street.
