Marie Rieson Smithers

Marie Rieson Smithers, 68, formerly of Grove Street in Eden, passed Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Madison.

Marie was born July 21, 1954, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Garvin Franklin Rieson and Elizabeth Pratt Rieson. She formerly worked as an inspector for at towel manufacturer by the name of Sedgefield in Greensboro, NC. Marie enjoyed dancing and being with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Patricia “Cissy” Pinkleton of Eden, Donna Strickland of Lexington; brother, Jimmy Rieson of Ridgeway; one grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smithers; stepson, Robbie Smithers.
