Marie Strutton Priddy, 98 of Eden, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, NC. There will be a one hour visitation before the funeral service. Burial will follow at the Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Marie was born April 26, 1927 in Spray, (Eden) to the late William Benton Strutton and Della May Smith Strutton.
She graduated from Tri-City High School in 1944. She then went to work at Fieldcrest Mills where she stayed until she retired July 30, 1991. Marie loved to make crafts, do quilting, make cakes and pies to sell in the community. She catered weddings and receptions for her friends and family. Marie would sit and make the most beautiful quilts and sew them by hand. Every grandchild received one.
She was very active in her church and the community until her health started to decline. Marie has been a member of the First Church of the Brethren all her life. She served on the Church Board and many other committees. Her favorite committee was Home and Family Life, they would do many fund raisings, serve meals to the shut-in's and funeral meals. Marie was also a past member of the Home Extension Club and the Friends Club. She also loved to travel and looked forward to bus trips with the Senior Citizens.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Teresa Tredway (William) and Richard Priddy (Bobbie); grandchildren, Tracey Hooker (Derek), Jessica York (Chad), Amanda Wilkerson (Aaron) and Joseph Tredway (Tracy), ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson, a special niece, Janet Davis, numerous nieces and nephews and her special caregiver, Leveda Lemons.
In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Ballard H. Priddy; sisters, Viola Jarrett, Ruth Martin and Christine (Teny) Harris; brothers, Qucell Strutton, Melvin Strutton, Ray Strutton and Clifford (Jack) Strutton.
The family extends their appreciation to the staff at Ancora Compassionate Care and to the Gibson House.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to Ancora Compassionate Care, 2150 NC Hwy 65, Reidsville, NC 27320 or to the First Church of the Brethren, Eden, NC 27288.
