Marie Scott Harris

Marie Scott Harris, 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Ancora Compassionate Care’s Gibson House.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Visitation will be held from 4-6pm on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Fair Funeral Home.

Marie was born on February 13, 1946 in Rockingham County. She was the daughter of the late James Lewis and Nannie Slaughter Scott. Marie was a devoted wife and mother. Her husband, Booker, and her son, Todd Dillon, were the loves of her life.

A woman of deep and enduring faith, she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 53 years. Marie loved her Jesus and her family very much and will be truly missed by all who knew her. During her life, she worked in textiles and housekeeping.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and son; her brothers, William Scott, Ellis Scott, Wallace Scott, and Buck Scott; and her sisters, Leola Allen, Odessa Scott, Mozelle Mabes, and Rachel Haymore.

She loved all of her nieces and nephews. Marie wanted to say a special thank you to her niece, Patricia Gann and her husband, Ronnie, Sheila Mostella, and Debbie Hunter for the support and care they provided during her illness.
