Margie Boyte Wood Washburn

Margie Boyte Wood Washburn, 88, of 241 Weaver Street in Eden, passed away Wednesday morning, May 10, 2017, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, May 12, at Immanuel Friends Church. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.

Mrs. Washburn was born November 22, 1928 in Spray, NC, to the late Marvin and Grace Leonard Boyte.  She was a member of Immanuel Friends Church and a retired bookkeeper for Wood Distributing Company.  Margie loved working with flowers in her yard.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Adkins (Tony) of Eden;  brother, Raeford Boyte (Glen) of Eden;  sisters-in-law Sandra Boyte and Ruth Boyte;  step-grandson, Ben Adkins;  and step-great-grandchildren, Benson and Maggie Adkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first  husband, Ralph L. Wood;  second husband, John D. Washburn;  and three brothers, Doug, Elwood, and Junior Boyte.
