Mamie Irene Mcdaniel Taylor

Mamie McDaniel Taylor, 91, of Cascade, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Piney Forest Health and Rehab Center in Danville, VA.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, June 19, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 6538 Cascade Mill Road in Cascade, VA.

Mrs. Taylor was born May 10, 1926 in the Draper section of Eden, NC, to the late James Clifford McDaniel and Louzanie Portis McDaniel.  She was a member of Willis Memorial Baptist Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.

She is survived by her son, Preston Taylor (Emily) of Jacksonville, NC;  daughter, Janice Irby (Barney) of Cascade, VA;  grandchildren, Lennon Taylor (Darline), Christy Covington (Darrell), and Heather Irby;  great-grandchildren, Megan Crite (Steve Alexander), Abbey Taylor, John Taylor, and Isabella Covington;  one great-great-grandchild, Isaiah Alexander;  and three sisters, Ruth Carmon (Bill) of Gibsonville, Carrie Dean Branch of Goose Creek, SC, and Lalia Wilson (Phillip) of Eden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Taylor;  one brother;  and six sisters.
