Mabel Burgess Lemons

January 21, 1923 — August 9, 2013

Mabel Burgess Lemons,age 90 formerly of Hidden Valley Apartments passed away on Friday evening at Morehead Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be held 12 pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Dan View Cemetery. Mrs. Lemons was born January 21, 1923 in Leaksville, NC to the late John and Gertrude Walters Burgess. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Draper and was a member of several garden clubs. Mabel retired from E.I. Dupont after 18 years of service.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, William Lawrence Lemons; a son, William "Bill" L. Lemons II and a grandson, William Lawrence Lemons III, and a brother John L. Burgess.

Surviving are sisters; Anne Burgess and husband "Bunny" Biggs of Eden, Laura B. Henderson of Newport News, Va.; brother, James H. Burgess and wife Florence of Greenville, SC; daughter, Patricia Clemmonts; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver Shelby Axsom.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home of her sister. Anne Biggs, 211 Devonway Street, Eden, NC
