In Loving Memory of Lynn Fain

September 2, 1957 – August 24, 2026

Lynn Fain, 68, of Eden, North Carolina, passed away on August 24, 2026. Born in Eden on September 2, 1957, Lynn lived a life defined by her love for her family, her compassion for others, and her unwavering faith in God.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Stuart, Virginia. Visitation will be held on hour prior to the service, from 11am to Noon, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Lynn is survived by her two sons, Christopher Hamilton and Joshua Fain; her sisters, Samantha Wright and her husband, James Mullins, and Coletta Smith and her husband, Randy Smith; her half-sister, Angel; her grandchildren, Joseph Hamilton and Grayson Hamilton, Russel Whaley, Alanna Whaley, and Avacyn Warren; and her great-grandchildren, Gregory Hamilton, Jerry Hamilton, Alyssa Hamilton, and Luna Whaley.

She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Dylan Jobe, Tracy Burroughs, Bradley Thornton, Travis Wright, Zekara Mullins, and Christin Brown; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Evelyn Jobe, Kennedy and Carter Light, Eve and Harrison Thornton, and Jayden, and Dominic Monia; as well as many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Lynn was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joey Hamilton, and her loving parents, Frank Dunn and Nancy Spangler.

For many years, Lynn worked as a store manager, where she was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. After the birth of her son Joshua, Lynn devoted herself fully to her family. Josh required additional care and support, and Lynn made caring for him one of the greatest purposes of her life. She was his mother, caregiver, advocate, protector, and constant source of love and strength.

Lynn’s compassion extended far beyond her own children. She opened her heart and home to foster children and was always willing to care for children within her extended family when they needed her. Caring for others came naturally to Lynn, and her willingness to give so much of herself spoke volumes about the kind of woman she was.

Lynn loved to paint and especially enjoyed working in her garden, which she kept full of beautiful flowers. She was also an exceptional cook, and her Thanksgiving meals became a treasured family tradition. Family and friends would travel for hours to gather around her table, enjoying not only her cooking but the love, laughter, and memories that came with it.

Above all, Lynn loved God and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Redemption Road Baptist Church, and her faith and love for the Lord were at the center of the way she lived her life. Through both joyful and difficult times, she held firmly to that faith. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now home with the Lord, where she has found eternal peace, joy, and rest.

Lynn will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, her beautiful gardens, her wonderful cooking, and most of all, the love she gave so freely. Her greatest legacy lives on in the family she loved, the children she cared for, and the many lives made better simply because she was a part of them.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Though Lynn will be deeply missed here on earth, her family finds peace in knowing she is home with the Lord and comfort in the promise that this goodbye is not forever.
