Luther E."Luke" Slaughter

Luther E. Slaughter, 76, of 917 Conover Drive, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his home.  He was born on May 31, 1939 in Ridgeway, Virginia to the late Jasper and Bessie Kingery Slaughter.  Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, William Slaughter and his sister, Bonnie Jarrell.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.

Luther is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Slaughter; son, Michael Slaughter (Lynn) of Albermarle, NC ; daughter, Becky Church of Stoneville; two grandchildren, Todd Church and Adam Slaughter; brothers, Roger Slaughter of Eden and George Slaughter (Robin) of Axton, VA and sister, Kathy Hodgson (Ron) of Eden.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Luther’s Honor to either, Hospice Home of Rockingham County, 2150 NC-65, Reidsville, NC 27320 or The American Cancer Society, 1079 Spruce St# C, Martinsville, VA 24112.
