Lucy Nelson Johnson

Lucy Nelson Johnson, 81, passed away Sunday evening, September 12, 2010 at Morehead Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 15, at Overlook Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born December 31, 1928 in Leaksville, NC, daughter of the late William Lee and Nina Weddle Nelson. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her three children, Mary Joan Johnson Washburn and husband, Mack, Burton Tyre Johnson and wife, Kathy, and George "William" Johnson, all of Eden; four grandchildren, Candice Bailey, William Warren Johnson, Brandon Tyre Johnson, and Ashley Wrenn Johnson; four great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Broznick of Pittsburgh, PA; and brother, Wayne Nelson of Eden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Burton Johnson; and eight siblings. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 6 - 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, William Johnson at 521 Garrett Road in Eden.
