Lucille Ella Kennon Baker, 84, passed away Monday morning, July 16, 2012, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, July 21, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Baker was a Rockingham County native and daughter of the late Will and Dollie Kennon. She was a Draper High School graduate who was employed by Karatan Mills, until her retirement at age 62. She was a loving wife and mother who adored spending her time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years. Jack C. Baker of Eden; son, Steve C. Baker and fiancee', Cheri Holbert of Eden; daughter, Teresa B. Knight and husband, Dean of Stokesdale; beloved grandchildren, Keisha Snodderly and Tom of Duluth, GA, Brittany Baker of Wilmington, NC, Shelly Baker of Wilmington, NC and their mother, Cindy Baker, also of Wilmington, Patrick Winn of Bangkok, Thailand and John Winn of Stokesdale. In addition, she leaves behind great-grandchildren, Sophie, Noah and Ella Finley; sisters and brothers, Ruby Adkins of Eden, Jesse Kennon of Eden, Beatrice Blanchard and Manfred of Eden, Viola Allen of Eden, Veronica Duck and Phillip of Lake Norman, NC, Yvonne Pierce and Roger of Eden, Bill Kennon of Eden and beloved niece, Jean Bryant of Eden and siser-in-law, Eunice Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Kennon; and sister, Hazel Robertson.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Rockingham County, as well as Morehead Nursing Center for all the love and care that was given to her by nurses, aides and staff. Your love for our mother will be cherished in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held immediately following the memorial service at the Morehead-Fair House, next to Fair Funeral Home on Boone Road in Eden.
