Louise Powell

Louise Jordan Powell, 89, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Brookdale of Cary.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 27th, at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens of Eden.  The family will receive friends from 1 - 1:45 PM at Fair Funeral Home before proceeding to the cemetery for the service.

Mrs. Powell was born March 2, 1928 in Georgetown, SC to the late Galbrieth and Katie Richardson Jordan.  She was very active in her church and was a former member of Leaksville United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach and First United Methodist Church of Cary.  Louise had a true servant's heart and believed in giving back to her community.  In her later years, she served in many capacities in Myrtle Beach including,  Meals on Wheels, the Battered Women's Shelter, her church and also Conway Hospital.  After years of raising her children she was employed by Eden City Schools.  Louise was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by so many.

She is survived by her daughter, Rayne Powell Brown and husband, Clark of Lexington;  son, Landirth R. "Randy" Powell, Jr. and Lesa Powell of Cary;  grandchildren, Jordan Brown Pietz and husband, Bryan and Elizabeth Powell Currin and husband, Drew, both of Apex;  and great-grandchildren, Hudson and Reagan Pietz and Baker and Charlotte Currin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Landirth R. Powell, Sr. and her eight siblings.

Memorials  may be made to First United Methodist Church, 901 North Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC  29577 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
