Louise Payne Lamb

Louise Payne Lamb, 83, of 5193 Axton Road, passed away early Sunday morning, February 14, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Martinsville, VA. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, February 18, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery in Axton. Mrs. Lamb was born December 30, 1926 in Wilmington, NC, daughter of the late William Carter and Louise Shields Payne. She was a graduate of Women's College in Greensboro, Class of '48, and was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. Mrs. Lamb was a retiree of Bank of America where she worked for many years as a loan officer. Surviving is her brother, William "Bill" Payne, Jr. of Axton, VA; and numerous cousins. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home. However, friends and family are welcome to come by to pay their respects at any time on Wednesday or Thursday prior to the funeral.
