Louise Dunn Gatewood

Louise Dunn Gatewood, 80, formerly of 201 Sunset Drive in Eden, passed away Sunday night, September 30, 2012, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, October 4, at Charity Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Gatewood was born August 19, 1932 in Rockingham County, NC, daughter of the late Luther and Tinnie Ratliff Dunn. She was a charter member of Charity Baptist Church where she served as treasurer and a member of the Women's Auxillary. Mrs. Gatewood was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills after 38 years of service. In her early years, prior to marriage, she managed the Railroad Cafe. Her passion was cooking for her beloved family and she loved gardening and taking care of her home, as well as going to church on Sunday.

She is survived by her daughters, Robin G. King and husband Allen of Dallas, Texas, Ervine Fallen of Eden and Evelyn Richardson and husband, Gary of Greensboro; granddaughter, Jessica Fallen of Roanoke, Virginia; great-granddaughter, Hailey Marie Green of Roanoke, Virginia; brothers, Frank Dunn, Pete Dunn, Leroy Dunn, George Dunn and Mike Dunn; and sisters, Magdalene Hopkins, Teresa Archibald and Betty Jo Nelson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Percy "Mutt" Irvin Gatewood and her sister, Judy Thomasson.

Vistiation will be held on Wednesday evening, 7 - 9 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at 201 Sunset Drive in Eden.
